When it comes to maintaining our physical and mental health, it can be easy to get caught up in fad diets, workouts, and quick fixes. However, the key to true wellness lies in understanding and emulating the habits of those already living healthy lifestyles. And as it is vital to your effectiveness in Multifamily Management or any other endeavor, it’s good practice to ask yourself a straightforward question when making healthy choices

“What would a healthy person do?”

Here are some best practices for maintaining wellness that healthy individuals commonly adopt:

  1. Prioritize sleep: A healthy person understands the importance of sleeping well each night. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to ensure your body has the time to repair and rejuvenate.
  2. Eat a balanced diet: A healthy person knows that a balanced diet is crucial for maintaining good health. This means including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats in your diet. Avoid processed foods and excessive sugar and salt. It’s easier said than done.
  3. Exercise regularly: A healthy person makes time for regular physical activity. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, such as brisk walking or cycling, most days of the week. I think four to six is a good target.
  4. Manage stress: A healthy person knows that stress can take a toll on the body and mind. Find ways to manage stress, such as meditation, yoga, or other relaxation techniques. I’m a big believer is studying stoicism for this purpose.
  5. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption: A healthy person knows that smoking and excessive alcohol consumption can seriously affect the body and mind.

Remember that wellness is a journey, not a destination, and that small changes can make a big difference over time.”
