Envisioning Reality: The Poetic and Artistic Perspectives of Ryan Holiday”
Envisioning the world through the lenses of a poet and an artist, as suggested by Ryan Holiday, is a transformative approach to life.
This perspective shifts focus from the mundane to the profound, uncovering the beauty and depth in everyday experiences.
Poets and artists are renowned for their ability to capture the essence of a moment, finding significance in subtleties often overlooked.
"To see the world through a poet's eyes or an artist's vision is to experience the ordinary as extraordinary, transforming the mundane into a canvas of profound depth and beauty." – Mike Brewer Click To TweetAdopting this viewpoint allows one to experience a richer connection with one’s surroundings, fostering creativity and deeper understanding.
Holiday’s concept encourages us to pause, reflect, and appreciate the world’s intricacies, whether in nature’s patterns, human interactions, or within ourselves.
This approach promotes mindfulness and gratitude, leading to a more fulfilling and inspired life.
Embracing this artistic and poetic perspective isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a journey toward personal growth and a more enlightened way of experiencing the world.

Unveiling the Mystique: The Intricate Dance of Inner and Outer Worlds
Secret revealed – how the unseen world within orchestrates the visible world without.
One embarks on a philosophical odyssey in contemplating the world without its intricate dance with the world within. Inner and Outer worlds thrive in alignment.
Our external reality, the world without, is a kaleidoscopic canvas of sensory experiences, societal norms, and environmental factors.
It’s where the tangible meets the gaze, and the concrete shapes our daily existence.
Yet, this external world is perpetually influenced by the world within – our inner realm of thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and subconscious undercurrents.
This internal universe colors our perception, dictating how we interpret and interact with the external.
It’s a symbiotic relationship; the outer world impacts our inner landscapes, while our inner world refracts, shaping our external experiences.
This dance is a mirror, reflecting our deepest selves in the world around us.
It’s a reminder that our external reality is not just a passive backdrop but an active participant in our life’s story, constantly shaped and reshaped by our inner narratives.
Recognizing this interplay is crucial for a holistic understanding of our existence, urging us to nurture our internal and external worlds equally.

In this episode, Mike Brewer sits down with Virginia Love – Industry Principle at Entrata. Virginia is a highly respected expert in the multifamily industry with a long history in multifamily leasing, marketing, and operations. She is a champion of the people in our industry and has a deep understanding of the ways that technology impacts the front-line teams and believes that it is our responsibility to elevate the role our team members play in the success of our industry.
Key Discussion Points:
- Lasting impact of the pandemic: The pandemic shed attention on the importance of the site teams and led to the current focus on them as the drivers of performance and doing what is right for the site teams, recognizing the need to reconsider appropriate wage levels. The pandemic accelerated the pace and adoption of technology and forced companies that were sitting on the sidelines to engage with virtual tours, self-guided tours, and more.
- Culture Matters: Entrata is a technology company that actively engages its customers in the Entrata culture – so much so that they become invested in the Entrata brand.
- Economic Inclusion: For decades, the only impact for residents who paid their rent on time was not incurring late fees and being sent to collections. Giving renters the ability to build their credit by simply paying their rent is a significant economic empowerment tool.

Exploring the Full Spectrum of Improvisation for Success in Multifamily
Unleashing Creativity and Agility for Operational Excellence
Photo by RhondaK Native Florida Folk Artist on Unsplash
In multifamily management, leaders are confronted with numerous unforeseen challenges daily. Embracing the full spectrum of improvisation could be the game-changer needed to effectively navigate these challenges, optimize operations, and improve resident satisfaction. In this brief space, I want to unpack the potent benefits of improvisation and provide practical strategies for its application in multifamily management.
Despite structured management models and established protocols, multifamily leaders and property teams often encounter situations where no policy or procedure fits. Whether dealing with extraordinary maintenance events, handling delicate resident issues, or navigating team member concerns, these unanticipated situations require a swift, innovative response. Unfortunately, rigid adherence to antiquated procedures can stifle creativity, slow response times, and reduce satisfaction, leading to potential downsides or adversities.
Integrating the spectrum of improvisation into your management approach can offer many benefits. First, it promotes agile thinking, enabling your teams to adapt as new challenges arise and to quickly devise innovative solutions. This flexibility not only reduces downtime but also improves efficiency and productivity.
Secondly, improvisation fosters a problem-solving mindset, encouraging teams to find solutions rather than dwelling on problems. By empowering your team members with the freedom to improvise, you foster a proactive culture where challenges are seen as opportunities for innovation and growth.
Moreover, incorporating improvisation can enhance communication with residents, team members, and business partners. Emphasizing dialogue over rigid processes can lead to a better understanding of resident and team member needs, ultimately improving satisfaction and retention.
Finally, the act of improvising can stimulate continuous learning and improvement. By recognizing each unexpected event as a learning opportunity, you can refine your management strategy, creating a cycle of ongoing advancement.

The Transformative Power of Silence
Photo by Nick Fewings on Unsplash
Thomas Carlyle, a revered philosopher, and writer, once spoke of silence as the element in which great things fashion themselves. This simple yet profound statement holds a wealth of wisdom for those seeking personal and professional growth.
In this noisy world, silence often gets overlooked.
Yet, it’s in silence when our deepest thoughts and most innovative ideas come to life.
We open a space for reflection and creativity when we embrace quiet moments. In these tranquil breaks, we can tap into an internal reservoir of ideas, untapped potential, and self-awareness.
Mindfulness, a technique promoting focused attention on the present moment, can enhance our ability to find silence amidst the noise.
By incorporating mindfulness into our daily routine, we nurture an environment conducive to growth and greatness.
Carlyle’s words invite us to seek silence and, in doing so, create an environment where great things are born and take shape.
In embracing silence, we step into a space where we can truly fashion ourselves into great humans.
