In my opinion this is an awesome promotion. It hits where we hurt most. Housing and gas prices are the gist for nearly every conversation we have anymore.
Case in point. I was at the park with my kids yesterday and saw a sign attached to the back of a bicycle trailer that read: What are you doing to conserve gasoline. That lead to a conversation with the manager of a fine restaurant in my neighborhood. We were talking about the price of gas as it related to our personal transportation when I mentioned that we were seeing in the price of goods and services. That produced nearly thirty minutes of conversation about vendors and services providers to our respective businesses.
Oil is nearly 30% of the world’s economy and price matters as it relates production right on through to use. Every morning I watch Squawk Box on CNBC while I run. Just this morning Carl and the gang talk about $12 gas. Just think about that. Everything about our lives will change. In some ways it will be good in others it remains to be seen.
