Busy Apartment Residents

Is it reasonable to think that we could build in once a week apartment cleaning into lease contracts. Maybe it is a choice, maybe it’s not. Not unlike a hotel/motel.

Knowing that apartment dwellers live busy lives and banking on the idea that cleaning their homes is the last thing they want to think about maybe we could sell it.

For and extra $100 a month we will throw in 1 deep clean per month for the life of your lease. If you think about it, it preserves our asset at the same time it frees a resident of a little stress. Think about it on a psychological level. Every time we get our car washed we just feel better. I know I feel better that one time a year I choose to wash my car. It’s crazy. The same thing triggers in me when I have a clean apartment.

What do you think?

  1. I like the concept, although I’m not sure if that price is a little steep or not. Maybe it’s a market-by-market thing. Regardless, what I do especially like is that essentially have proposed an “a la carte” system. I think there is great value in giving residents a list of upgrades, services, etc on an individual basis above rent. What is especially handy is that the cost of upgrades can be spread out over the time of the lease, thus reducing the monthly amount to only a few dollars. And if you can work out those upgrades to stay in the apartment after leaving, then you have had your residents subsidize the upgrading of your community.
