Starting the New Year on the Right Foot

Running, meditation, and a cold plunge are my go-to resets.

Each clears my head, centers my focus, and jumpstarts my day.

Still, even in those moments, I catch myself slipping into work thoughts instead of embracing the present.

Why is it so hard to exist in the now?

It’s time to carve out new paths with the New Year here.

Start with a single action.

Here’s a list to spark your next step:

  • Do one thing that scares you.
  • Apologize to someone you owe it to.
  • Start the project you’ve always dreamed about.
  • Tell someone how amazing they are.
  • Offer help where it’s least expected.
  • Stop caring what others think—just once.
  • Take on something that isn’t “your job.”
  • Appreciate someone’s unique way of doing things.
  • Do something playful, even foolish.
  • Call your parents or someone significant in your life.

Every life-changing decision starts with one moment of clarity.

Maybe it’s during your next run, meditation, or cold plunge.

Today’s Action Item: Choose your reset, be fully present, and commit to one bold step forward.

“Big change starts with a single bold moment of courage.” – Mike Brewer
