Did you know?
According to Lyris, Inc in a recent study of permission based email deliverability, 1 in 4 emails lands in junk-mail.
I wonder if that means that 1 in 4 requests for information on Forrent.com, apartmentguide.com, etc. gets 86’d.

Very Funny
Mike Brewer · · 1 Comment
I have been watching the NBA playoffs’ as of late. Go Hornets!! No, I am not an Hornet fan, I just despise the Spuds…Spurs.
Have you noticed that when announcers make mention of specific TNT sitcoms, they finish with the tag line; very funny! Now, not all of them get it right. I mean it’s one of those things that if you miss adding the ! to the end, it sounds blah! And, it makes no sense to the end user.
I was thinking about that in the context of career attire. I am a lunatic about career attire. What you wear says everything about you. I mean it’s one of those things that if you miss adding the right shirt with the right pants (pressed) and shoes, it shouts, I don’t care about me therefore I don’t care about you. And, it subconsciously confuses the prospect and or resident.

What about the tag line; Very Cool! That would be for our blog. It would go something like this; Read it at Property Management, Very Cool!
Have a Very Cool day. M

For Rent releases Click to Call

I have to say, this is a really cool feature. Click here and look to the right for the Click to Call this Property link. Once you click on it, it asks for your phone number. After entering it, your phone will begin to ring, answer it and viola you are connected to the property. Check it out today, very cool.

Sponsorships for Apartment Industry
Mike Brewer · · 1 Comment
Check this blurb out from the St. Louis Business Journal;
Nintendo of America Inc. has struck a deal to supply its Wii games to
the Westin Hotels chain, the game company said Thursday. The Westin St.
Louis hotel in downtown St. Louis, Mo., is one of the hotels slated to
get the systems this month.
I think this could be highly attractive and successful in a clubroom, coffee bar, fitness center and/or whatever you call it in your community. I know we don’t sport the volume of transients and in the same sense we might be a better target advertising forum for the likes of Nintendo.
I talked about sponsorships sometime back on our blog but at the time I was thinking more in the vein of local businesses.
What are your thoughts? Would you rather have Nintendo sponsor the fitness center or local businesses through their various ads and promotions displayed on your the walls?

Podcasts in the Apartment industry
Now here is a social media concept I have given no time to. I have read a lot about it and have even signed up to receive a few but never thought much about how our industry might put it to use. Well Grace Hill has planted a seed in my mind with the introduction of their new service, Grace Hill Radio.
Here is a blurb from their latest newsletter;
ANNOUNCING GRACE HILL RADIO — New this month! Grace
Hill Radio is a monthly podcast designed to bring you the latest and
greatest in multifamily news and education, including interviews and
discussions of hot industry topics. “Podcast”, by the way, is just a fancy way of saying a radio show that is delivered via the computer. Grace
Hill Radio can be played right on your computer or downloaded to a
mobile device such as an MP3 player or iPod for learning on the go.
If you don’t know what Grace Hill does then take the time to check them out by clicking on anyone of the links above.
Still feeling a little under the weather today but feel the energy level rising. Have a terrific Thursday. M
