Apartment Managers could save untold thousands every year going forward

I picked the following up from [Spine-Health]:
In March of 2006, Harvard’s 16 teaching hospitals unanimously agreed
to communicate with patients and their families about adverse events
using this format:
Immediately after the event:
- Acknowledge the event
- Express regret
- Take steps to minimize further harm to the patient
- Explain what happens next
- Commit to investigate and find out why the adverse event occurred
- Later follow-up
- Disclose the results of the internal investigation
- Apologize if there was an error or systems failure
- Make changes to prevent the failure from recurring
- Provide continuing emotional support to the patients and the health professionals involved
Though routinely disclosing and apologizing after adverse events is
still rare, Harvard’s initiative is not the first of its kind. The
Lexington Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center has had such a policy in
place since 1987. Denver-based physician-run medical liability insurer
COPIC Insurance Co. has a similar program, and the University of
Michigan Health System says it is saving $2 million a year in
litigation costs thanks to its initiative.
Now think, what if we had our own apartment industry standard. Maybe that is a little ambitious, what if we had a company standard created in a collaborative environment that followed the above framework. I wonder how it would effect both our leasing efforts and our ability to retain residents.

Have you ever wanted to send an email by simply talking on your cell phone? Yeah, me too!!!!
I have tried a couple of systems over the past couple of years. Each held promise but Jott seems to be the best of the bunch so far.
I clipped some ad copy from their site [Jott.com] to share with you below.
Nothing is more important in today’s Real Estate environment than
customer responsiveness and your efficiency. Your clients need to have
confidence that you give them an edge, that you have access to the best
information possible, and that you will provide a level of personalized
service that web engines can not.
Signing up and sending my first Jott took all of five minutes.
I think for Property Management professionals especially those in the Area and Regional Manager Roles this is a great communication tool. Not only can you email yourself, you can emails others, you can send text messages and even post to your blog.
At the site level, how cool would it be to do your follow up via Jott? The second your prospect walk out of the office you send them a Jott message. That is along with your hand written thank you note mailed by the snail.
It is also a big bonus for us road driving thumb texters’ who put all of us at risk.

A cool alternative to tomtom
Found this cool system over at [engadget]. Now the question is, can we get the name of my apartment community flash advertised on that line. And or, can I take control of the car and use my computer’s joystick or up/down arrows to move the car my direction. Hey, it gives a whole new meaning to the assumptive close, yeah?
