Typically, water leaks rarely start as emergencies. We don’t see them in physical form, as water follows the path of least resistance. They often appear as minor anomalies in usage data. Worst case, by the time it presents as a water stain in the ceiling, it’s too late. Fortunately, we have access to solutions through sensor technology. Otherwise known as the Internet of Things (IoT). Combine that with AI and other intelligence, and leaks have no chance!!

Smart sensors and real-time monitoring tools catch issues early, often before a resident notices anything. Irrigation lines, water heaters, and older buildings benefit the most.

That doesn’t mean we ignore the best technology ever invented – our eyes and ears! The human! Encourage residents to report strange noises, soft flooring, running toilets, dripping sinks, or moisture immediately. It’s a partnership: technology detects silent problems, and residents detect visible ones. Early detection equals asset preservation equals increased value!
