People don’t line up for what they want so badly it hurts a little to wait.
In multifamily, we confuse satisfaction with desire.
We run surveys.
We tick boxes.
We deliver on time.
And then we wonder why residents bounce and team members burn out.
Here’s the truth: satisfaction is a ceiling. Creating desire acts like an accelerant.
If your leasing strategy, amenity design, or leadership model isn’t creating craving, you’re missing some serious upside.
Starbucks doesn’t sell coffee. They sell ritual.
Nike doesn’t sell sneakers. They sell identity.
What do we sell?
You build brand loyalty by creating moments so magnetic they make people want to stay, share, and show off.
Is your community Instagrammable for the right reasons?
Does your team member culture ooze something that people can feel, not just read in a handbook?
Would anyone miss your property if it disappeared tomorrow?
You don’t get insatiable desire by mimicking others.
You earn it by becoming irreplaceable.
Here’s your challenge: Stop asking “What do they need?” and start asking “What do they never get enough of?”
Then build that into every leasing tour, renewal pitch, team-member huddle, and investor update.
People follow their cravings.
Be the brand they crave.
